Last night, I managed to drag SC to Decanter, a wine house located at Kuningan area. Although we don’t drink, I heard that the meal served there is quite good, so I decided to try it. SC has been unwilling to visit Decanter because the place is very smoker friendly. So we tried to arrive early (a little after 6PM) while the place was still empty. I like the design, as it is spacious, very earthy with broken brick floor, paneled wall, wooden table & seat with plants everywhere. The ceiling is designed to resemble a starry sky with hundred of small light bulbs. I love it although SC wondered how much electricity is consumed to light up those bulbs.
The menu book is thick. We skipped the wine & bar section and went straight to the food section. We ordered Fine french bean wrapped with bacon 40K, Souvlaki (grilled pork skewer marinated in oregano) served with tzatziki sauce 37.5K, Penne with green asparagus and sun dried tomato with garlic and orange flavor 85K, Alsatian choice (brutwurst, kasler, krakaur, and pork leg) single size 50K.
I liked my pasta as it was light, not creamy / oily. I also love the delicious Alsatian choice. Lucky for us we only ordered the single size as it was really packed with meat. We feel very full after we finished all the dishes. I love the food, but I think it will be very hard to drag SC here for the second time. I hope they will give a dedicated space for non-smokers who want to enjoy good food and good wine.
