Last week, I asked about a place to eat around Soekarno Hatta airport and some of the twitizens recommended a place called Gudeg Jogja Bu Hani. So several days ago, I went with SC to have lunch there. The place is located just outside the airport in the Rawa Bokor area, at Jl. Husein Sastranegara, near Alfamart, next to Hotel Huswah, across the road from a gas station.
Upon arriving, the waiter approached us and asked what we want for lunch. They only have two options: Gudeg (fried chicken/beef + telur pindang) or Gado-gado (+telur pindang). We ordered both. On the table were 2 large glass jars of emping (Melinjo crackers) and rempeyek (peanuts crackers). They looked really tempting, so we grabbed one of each to eat while waiting. The place is quite crowded during lunch hour and it looked like the customers are mostly working in the airport area.
We didn’t have to wait long for our meal. I usually don’t like gudeg very much as it’s often too sweet for my taste, but this one was an exception. It was delicious, not too sweet and the accompanying sambal surely is hot. Even the fried chicken was delicious. SC’s gado-gado also tasted good, although the peanut sauce seems to be mixed with too much water. The damage cost for gudeg + gado-gado + 2 glasses of orange juice + emping + rempeyek is about 51K, a little pricey but worth a try.
