Kempi Deli

I’m a sucker for European style bread, I always prefer hard dough bread over Asian soft bread. It was perfect for breakfast combined with scrambled egg & bacon/sausages. So I’m very excited every time I find an European bakery in Jakarta. Kempi Deli, managed by Hotel Indonesia Kempinsky Jakarta, opened its door late last year at Grand Indonesia – East Mall. The place is small with several high tables if you want to have coffee/tea with sandwich or pastry. The price is quite high, but they give 50% discount for all their bread after 8PM *smile wickedly*. So far, I’ve tried their apple strudel, chicken pie, and coconut pastry. They were great and my favorite is their apple strudel. It was delicious and tasted even better with a cup of hot darjeeling tea. I’ll always visit Kempi Deli for its rye bread, focaccia, and multi grain bread. đŸ™‚

Below Kempi Deli, there’s a restaurant named Ninety Nine, the food was nice but the service level is very poor, I order iced lime juice but they serve iced tea, after complaint they apologize and change to iced lime juice. The waitress also several time got mixed up with the dishes. Need an improvement in training

I love their sandwiches…esp their egg and smoked salmon sandwich. Their croissants is superb also. Oya beside ninety nine resto there’s a japanese french pastry called BonJour jenz, they got really good cookies, madeleine and cakes 2. Quite pricey though.
