Today we had lunch at Pandan Bistro with several friends. We’ve noticed this place for some time now as it’s always packed with visitors and we finally get to try it today. The place was packed as usual. Coincidentally, as we walked into the restaurant, I met another group of friends who told me that Pandan Bistro is coming from the same management as Pondok Laguna that is famous for its Gurame Goreng and Tahu Kipas. So, we expected the menu here to be at least as good as in Pondok Laguna.



We got a table and started ordering Gulai Kepala Ikan 108.3K, Ikan Gurame Goreng 51.5K, 2 Tahu Kipas @29.9K & Genjer Teri 22K. The ‘Gulai Kepala Ikan‘ came first. The portion was quite large and the taste was great. Then came the rest of the dishes. All of it tasted above average. I especially liked the genjer teri. The Tahu Kipas was also worthy of praise as it was crispy outside and it got several decent-sized prawns as filling. My only comment was the the beverages portion is a bit too small, so we had to order more than one drink.

    btw, makanannya very similar to Laguna, only difference i guess would be the Hotbar selection.. jadi kangen makanan indo..

    indeed pondok laguna + some unique indonesian food which is not available at laguna πŸ™‚

    definitely one of the best indo food in Jakarta

    (nila bakar special is a must try… one of the best spicy grilled fish in town πŸ™‚ )

    108 ribu gulai kepala ikan??? ngga salah tuh? lebay lah buat makan aja sampe segitu.

    @Lia : Ukurannya gede, piringnya aja kira2 ukurannya 30cm x 30 cm, buat makan ber 6 aja masih berlebih. jadi masih worthed lah.

    Pandan Village ini sebenarnya cabang dari resto serupa di Surabaya, favoritku+keluarga πŸ™‚
    Next time, do try the Semur Lidah. Lidahnya dari lidah asap diiris tipis so the taste is pretty strong dan pake french fries yg dicemplungin k dalam kuah intead of regular sliced steamed potatoes, jadi makin gurih deh!
    Coba juga Salad Borneo-nya, terbuat dari irisan timun pake saus mustar kuno, ditaburi home made potato chips (sliced very thin then deep fried, delicate n crispy) n suwiran ayam berbumbu, segar dan unik πŸ˜€
    Another favorite is the Sate Tulang Banjar, made of sayap ayam yg dibumbui rada pedas terus dipotong kecil2 kemudian dibakar. Jadi every bite is potongan bertulang yang kudu dikulum2 di dalam mulut saat makan, seru! Disajikan pake saus tambahan but I find it unecessary as the marinade on the sate itself is pretty thick.

    Risoles dan lumpianya juga enak, as well as the Asam Iga. But since it’s a chain from Surabaya, so the Surabayan dishes such as Rujak Cingur, Tahu Telur etc are pretty spot on πŸ˜€

    Can you tell this is one of my fave resto?? ahahaha πŸ˜‰

    Kepala ikannya top markotop dah….Enak banget dan porsinya gede bener…trus bumbunya wuih gurih santennya pas banget. Jadi pingin balik lagi.

    Kemaren baru makan di Senayan LOH…. Pakubuwono… tempatnya makin siiip selatan banget… sekarang sudah deket rumah … mantaapp… bisa sering makan …
