[CLOSED] Puro

Expensive is the first thing that comes to my mind whenever anyone mentions Puro / Blowfish. One day, while we’re at City Plaza, we saw that there’s a discount lunch promo for pizza / pasta, so we decided to try it. The place is not as spacious as i thought, dominated with white color and an open kitchen.
While Blowfish offers Japanese cuisine, Puro is for Italian cuisine. I heard that this place serves authentic Italian cuisine (which mean they didn’t adjust it to Indonesian local taste like some pizza joint do, so if you’re looking for pizza rasa rendang, you’ve came to the wrong place). the menu consists of antipasti (appetizers), la pasta, secondi piatti di pesce (seafood main courses), secondi de carne (meat main courses), gourmet pizza, dolci (dessert), le nostre zuppe (soups) & I risotti (rice dishes).

Since the price was quite upscale, we only ordered their gourmet pizza to share. From their selection, we picked one of SC’s fav pizza: quattro formaggi (mozzarella, gorgonzolla, emmentaler and camembert cheese). For dessert we ordered tortina caldo al cioccolato con gelato alla menta (italian soft hot chocolate cake with mint gelato). While waiting for our orders to arrive, we were given a complimentary basket of fresh baked bread with three kinds of condiments: basil pesto, garlic butter and olive oil in herbs. In my opinion, the bread tasted very good and the condiments do add some nice flavors. The pizza came in a quite big size and it was delicious. After pizza came out dessert, the appearance was beautiful and it taste delicious too.

After the first succesfull visit, SC still craved their bread, so we went back with several friends. This time, we ordered, risotto frutti di Mare e broccolini (Italian rice arborio with shrimps, seabass, mussels and clams sprinkled with broccoli) 95K, tagliolini con Branzino e Crema di Tartufo (homemade tagliolini with seabass and black truffle mushroom in truffle cream sauce) 95K. For dessert we ordered: fragole marinate (marinated strawberry in balsamic vinegar) 45K, mousse cioccolati 45K and stofliata di fragole (thousand leaves tart with lime cream and strawberries) 45K. Overall the meal still tasted delicious, although the portion of the rissoto and pasta was way too small. To satisfy our still hungry stomachs, we ordered margherita pizza (fresh tomato sauce, buffala mozzarella and fresh basil) 65K. πŸ™‚

    @angel: I think so, but smart casual should be enough. This is not a place where you must be dressed to the nines to gain entry.

    i know the chef in that pic! chef marco kalo ngga salah.. waktu itu pernah diajarin bikin homemade italian pasta sama dia :p
    saya sendiri sih belum pernah ke puro.. mau sih, tapi udah terlanjur srek sama pepenero untuk resto italian fav..
