We’ve been going to AEON Mall in Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) quite often ever since the mall opened in mid-2015. However, we rarely explored the surrounding areas until recently. Upon reading about a place called Sale Ristorante that serves excellent Italian dishes, we decided to give it a try. Sale Ristorante is located at The Icon Business Park close to AEON Mall. It’s a fairly new ruko/shophouse complex, but I think the area is quite promising as more and more coffeeshops / eateries are opening here.

So we went there one fine Sunday afternoon for lunch. Upon entering, we’re shown to our table on the first floor and they gave us a menu book plus a bottle of still water and glasses (Yay!). On the table were jars of olive oil and balsamic vinegar as condiments for the free bread basket they gave us (Yay again!).

For starters, we ordered polipo (octopus “tagliata”, tomato, black olives and almonds) 70K. The octopus was generous and cooked to a tender perfection. The dressing is also light and refreshing.

Then we ordered quattro stagioni pizza (mozzarella, san marzano tomato, artichokes, olives, mushrooms, and bacon) 85K and Ravioli di Ricotta 85K. I always like thin crust Italian pizza, especially with real “bacon” (not beef bacon), but this pizza was particularly well-seasoned and tasty, even hours later when we ate the cold leftover pieces we brought home. Meanwhile, the ravioli was cooked al-dente and the filling of spinach and ricotta were delicious.

Since we would be joining a coffee cupping session later that afternoon, we decided not to order dessert. But overall, we’re very happy with what we tasted that day. Moreover, I found out later that there’s an open kitchen on the second floor and you can roll/make your own pizza, but perhaps that’s just for kids. We will definitely return to Sale Ristorante for more.
