Hummingbird Eatery Bandung

Several months ago, SC & I went on a two-day trip to Bandung to pay our last respect to a good friend. We chose to stay at Hummingbird Eatery & Guesthouse, which has 8 spacious guest houses behind the restaurant. The rooms are usually fully booked on weekends, but since it’s the middle of the week, we managed to get a room for a night. The price we paid for the room entitled us to a breakfast for two at the restaurant. Since it was still early, we decided to sit inside the “nest” area in the hope that no one would smoke in the morning during breakfast.

We’re given a special breakfast menu entitled “The Early Riser”. I decided to go for the menu called “the eating machine” which is basically runny centered poached eggs “benedict’s style” served on buttered toasts, broiled beef ham and lemony hollandaise sauce. While SC opted for sunny side up with toast and french fries (I forgot the name). What I do notice is that all of the dishes and beverages here were beautifully presented. My egg Benedict tasted good and I also love the thick toast they served. SC’s dish was also good. Overall, it was a nice & quiet morning before we went back to Jakarta

Really interesting concept for a guesthouse. No wonder Hummingbird is so famous. 🙂 Looking forward to staying there.
