The next morning, SC insisted to have breakfast at Café Moka in Seminyak area, one of his favorite places in Bali. It is a pretty laid back French bakery/cafe/restaurant that serves various bread, pastry, cakes, salad, sandwich and many savory dishes. The inside seating area is air conditioned and reserved for non-smokers. Yay! The first thing that grabbed my attention as we entered Café Moka was the array of bread, pastry and cakes displayed on the counter. They all looked so appetizing that I got the urge to order them all. But I’ve already made up my mind to only go for a light bite since I wanted to go someplace else later.


So SC decided to order a portion of meat pie 35K while I started my day with a cup of black coffee 19K paired with almond sacristain (a spiral-shaped almond-covered pastry) 19K. It was good, a bit too sweet, but it went well with the coffee. SC’s meat pie came a bit burned. I guess they forgot to remove it from the oven or set the temperature too high, so we sent it back. After a while another plate of meat pie came. It tasted delicious, but I think it still a bit cold in the center. We didn’t want to complain and having to wait for another batch, so we just ate it.


After that we shared a mini lemon meringue pie 10K. It tasted delicious, the lemon filling tasted so good and the meringue is not too sweet. Overall Café Moka is still a nice place to hang out for breakfast. I’m going to try their lunch/dinner menu the next time I visit Bali.
