The ramen fever hitting Jakarta for the past few years has apparently spread to Tangerang. Besides the well known ramen places we frequent in Jakarta, there’s a place called Chin-Ma-Ya ramen located inside SPBU Pertamina (gas/petrol station) not far from Summarecon Mall Serpong. At first, we’re hesitant to try because of its unusual location inside a gas station. However, our friend mentioned that Chin-Ma-Ya actually originated from Japan and headed by a Japanese chef.
Parking inside the premise is quite limited as it also shares the parking space with a minimarket. Chin-Ma-Ya occupies a two-story building and opens for 24 hours. The first floor is quite cozy and it’s a non-smoking place (Yay!). The menu is quite extensive, ranging from ramen with various broth: Miso (fermented soy beans based broth), Shio (salt based broth), Shoyu (soy sauce based broth), Tonkotsu (pork bone broth) and Tan Tan (spicy broth with SiChuan twist). Besides ramen, there are also various Japanese delicacies including chin ma han (mapo tofu) which is also one of their specialties.
So far, we’ve already been here twice and tried their Tonkotsu Ramen 45K, Chin Ma Han (Mapo Tofu) 25K, Pork Katsu Curry 40K and Tan Tan Men (small) 25K. Most tasted quite good. I especially like their Mapo Tofu. Besides, the price range is very affordable compared to other ramen places in Jakarta and don’t forget to order the genmaicha tea 12K. A pot is large enough for two. So if you happen to be hungry in Gading Serpong area, give this place a try.
