Over the past few months, we’ve noticed this restaurant as it’s located right across the hip Monolog Coffee, but the smoking policy there made it impossible for us to visit. Recently, I heard that De Luca has changed its smoking policy, so we decided to try it. The decor of this place is warm and cozy with several tables placed outside the restaurant. It was not crowded as it was still too early for dinner, so we chose to sit at a table outside.
Deciding to choose something else outside the usual pizza or pasta, we went with cream of mushroom with truffle oil 36K++ as a starter, followed by Grilled salmon Genovese pesto with mashed potato and mixed grilled vegetables 118K++ and ended it with De Luca’s signature gianduja cake (layered dark chocolate mousse and crunchy royaltine) 58K++. For my drink, I chose yuzu orange 35K++. I must admit, although the price was quite high (compared to Pepenero), the taste of the dish was great. I love my yuzu orange which tasted very refreshing for a hot night. The mushroom soup was OK, the salmon was presented beautifully and tasted delicious, but most of all, I love the Gianduja cake. Overall I had a nice experience here, with attentive service, good food, and good atmosphere.
