April 15, 2009 | Chinese Cuisine, Closed, Dimsum, JAKARTA, South Jakarta
It’s been a long time since we had dim sum with our friends, so we decided to go to Red Duck FX for dim sum brunch one Saturday morning. Apparently, Red Duck serves halal Dimsum only. The restaurant is quite spacious with comtemporary modern design and glasses on one side of the wall which make the place seems larger.
Their dimsum menu is separated into several categories such as steamed dimsum, steamed rice roll (various styles of cheong fan), pan fried & deep fried dimsum, fried rice, barbeque, congee and HongKong noodle. There were about 17 of us, so we ordered almost everything and repeated some orders. As far as I can remember, these are what we ordered :
bubur crispy belut ikan 28K, bubur sapi cincang + telur ayam 30K, mie pangsit wonton 30K, bebek panggang 183K, tim cheong fan udang 16K, mini mantau tim 9.8K, tim pangsit sechuan 13.8K, tim pangsit pocai seafood 13.8K, tim siew mai 13.8K, tim hakau 14.8K, tim xiao long bao ala red duck 14.8K, tim ayam & perut ikan gulung kulit tahu 13.8K, tim kaki ayam lada hitam 12.8K, pangsit udang goreng mayonaise 13.8K, lumpia udang goreng kulit tahu 13.8K, onde-onde goreng dengan tausa 11.8K, kuo tie shang hai 13.8K, talas goreng dengan udang 13.8K, tan tart 13.8K. And for dessert, we ordered : es jeruk bali dengan mangga 20K, buah campur sago segar ‘mei lo’ 20K and puding kelapa ala Red Duck 33K. Overall, the dishes were delicious and served attractively. However, the best thing I had there is a steamed bun called tim ba pao dengan pasir emas 12.8K, which picture I’ve forgotten to take. Hopefully we will be back there again soon.
