From Warung Liku, we walked to Gourmet Cafe at Dewi Sri Street to find something for SC’s lunch. Gourmet Cafe is a combination of cafe, restaurant, bakery and grocery store. They’re open for breakfast, lunch and dinner from 7AM – 10PM. The non-smoking area is situated inside the premises so it’s a good news for us, while the smoking area is placed outdoor at the back of the restaurant. Another Gourmet Cafe is also open at Petitenget Street.
After reading the menu, SC decided to order panini with parma ham and mozarella filling. It was quite good, but he felt that the one he had at La Lucciola tasted better. I only opted for a cup of long black coffee, but while I was looking at the tempting cakes display, I spotted paris brest, so I ordered it. Paris brest is a French pastry made of choux pastry shaped like a donut with hazelnut cream filling. The one at Gourmet Cafe was so good that I only shared it with SC reluctantly. 🙂
Since we got time to kill before our flight that night, we stayed at the Gourmet Cafe for several hours and eventually became hungry again, so SC ordered a portion of marinara pasta to share. It tasted OK, nothing to brag about.
Before heading to the airport, I browsed through their store, and there were quite a number of food products and beverages. I decided to buy a pack of biscotti and palmier home. The palmier was below average, but the biscotti was to die for. The service was friendly although I was asked politely to not take pictures inside the store. 🙂
