February 19, 2013 | Kaki Lima, Medan, Noodle, With Pork

Whenever we’re in Medan, I always make sure we try several kinds of char kway teow (stir fried flat rice noodle). So, on our last visit, one of founders recommended that we try Kwetiaw Cong Mei. So, we went there for a quick early dinner. Perched in front of the very same Kedai Kopi Kurnia we went for breakfast in the morning, the food sellers are all different during the night. We ordered a portion of kwetiaw goreng/char kway teow to share. It was promising since they use a big wok with charcoal stove. But there were already several people queuing before us, and it took us more than half an hour to get our order. The portion was moderate. It was a bit oily to my liking, but other than that it was a good Medanese char kway teow.
