After taking a quick stop to enjoy Pak Aip’s delicious durian desserts, we got back on track to Dago Giri to find Lawang Wangi Art Space. The place is an art gallery with a cafe perched on the third floor of building overlooking Bandung City. Unfortunately, we found out that smoking is allowed in both the indoor and outdoor sections. I refused to sit inside and became a passive smoker, and at last the waiters gave us a reserved table on the balcony and told us we could use it until 6PM which is fine by me.
The place is actually perfect to enjoy sunset. There is even a designated photo spot that is always full of people with their cameras. We decided to order a couple of beer, plus a capuccinno for me. For the snack, we initially wanted nachos, but it was sold out, so we chose potato skin instead. After that, we spent some time taking photos of our surroundings. When the dish came, I was disappointed as what they called potato skin is basically keripik kentang (potato chips) topped with tasteless red thingy. The potato chips itself were also tasteless.
My coffee was also disappointing. It was too thin and I felt like I was sipping creamy warm water #bleh. My friends enjoyed their chilled bir bintang though (of course, what can go wrong with bottled drinks?). In my opinion, we’re only paying for the view, not the food.
