Located not far from the hyped Senopati area, Jalan Wolter Monginsidi is another area filled with great restaurants. One place in particular is the Mastro Meat Market. It’s indeed a meat market, with rows of display counters filled with the best beef, fish, poultry, lamb, and pork cuts. Another section contains beverages, snacks, and BBQ supplies. Instead of buying to cook at home though, most customers just asked the meat to be grilled and dine in at the place.

First, we picked the cut we wanted from the counters. All of the meat displayed already have price tags, so you just choose how big/the size the steak you wanted. Last week, we went there with SC’s friend and he opted for a 424 gram AU black angus striploin steak priced at 275K. It was a huge portion of meat and he wanted it to be cooked to medium rare plus add in 45K for 2 additional side dish, while SC chose a 276 gram NW fresh trout fillet 115K to be cooked to medium. I picked Mexican jalapeno sausages 42,7K with a bowl of salad 20K.

We really enjoyed our lunch that day. The steak were cooked perfectly, SC’s trout fillet was also delicious, although the ‘teriyaki’ sauce tasted kinda weird. I enjoyed my spicy sausage with the tangy and refreshing salad. It was surprisingly very fulfilling. Overall, I’m glad this place continue to serve good quality steaks with good price. I’ve been here four times and have never been disappointed, so whenever I’m craving for a steak, I know where to go.
