Porto was recommended by SC’s friend who lives in Bandung. When I Googled it, it looks interesting so we decided to try it. Located not far from Rumah Mode factory outlet, the place occupies a Dutch colonial-style building that has been modernized. The interior has a nice classic/vintage ambience that is dedicated for non-smoking guests, while the charming outdoor seating are for smoking guests.

The menu consists of a selection of many dishes from all around the world. As usual, we decided to order several items to share. From the soup & salad section, I picked roasted tomato basil soup 29K and red salad (mixed organic lettuces served with tuna, crunchy sun flower seed & homemade mayonnaise, served inside the watermelon) 35K, while SC decided to order Norwegian salmon citrus (pan seared & oven baked salmon fillet, served with cheddar mashed potato, cherry tomatoes, rocket leaf & glazed carrot) 89K

The soup and red salad came first, beautifully presented and both tasted good. The red salad was served inside the watermelon, it was delicious and refreshing, I like the nutty texture of the sauce, plus the tuna chunks goes well with the watermelon. I especially like the roast tomato basil soup. It had a nice meaty texture with sweet roasted tomato taste and a hint of basil scent. I can say that this is the best basil tomato soup that I’d ever tasted. SC’s salmon steak also tasted good, but I still prefer the medium-cooked salmon steak I once had in Trattoria Bali.

After that, I ordered a pot of English breakfast tea, just because I like the beautiful tea caddy they served the tea in. There’s also a bakery attached on the right side of the restaurant, which has quite a good selection of cakes and bread. I couldn’t resist myself to order chocolate cake and banana cake to go with our tea. The chocolate cake tasted good, but I was in love with the banana cake, covered in chocolate, the banana cake was moist and scrumptious. A definitely must try if you’re in Bandung.

Overall, we’re very satisfied with the meal served at Porto, moreover the service was excellent and the price was reasonable considering the quality of food we got.
