Several weeks ago, SC & I were craving pizza. So we decided to go to Pepenero for dinner, and had a delightful pancetta e grana pizza there. Afterwards, we went to Lotte Avenue to do some shopping. We stopped by a bakery called Flour Flour, and noticed this casual Italian restaurant with Japanese twist called Sesto Senso next to it. I checked the menu and saw that they have pizza too (with pork), so we made up our mind to come back a week later to sample it.
Sesto Senso by Hide Yamamoto is run by Sho Nagamuna as the head chef. The place is elegantly designed with large windows at the back of the restaurant. Unfortunately, it was the designated smoking area, so we decided to sit at the front of the restaurant.
We ordered prosciutto e insalata herbe 115K, the only pizza with pork ingredients. So that’s what we ordered. The appearance turned out to be quite interesting. The thin crust pizza was baked with cheese only while the rest of the ingredients like the prosciutto and salad leaves were topped onto it. The pizza tasted great. It was perfectly baked, the cheese were tasty (I forgot to ask what kind of cheese they use).
For the dessert, we chose from what’s available in the bakery next door. We tried their apple pie that day. It was scrumptious with delectable apple jam filling. The next week, we’re back again for another dessert, this time we tried the mille crepes 30K (tasted good but very messy to eat) and the brownies 18K (also good). Whenever here, we always bought their chocolate muffin 25K, it was so good we kept coming back for more.
