This afternoon, we went to Neo Soho, the latest mall in West Jakarta, looking for a place to have lunch. As the mall is really new, there isn’t many options yet. I usually pick a restaurant I haven’t tried yet. At the lower ground floor, I saw that there’s a place called The Kitchen by Pizza Hut. It had been a while since I went to Pizza Hut and I was curious about this one, so I decided to give it a try.

The Kitchen is a relatively new concept from Pizza Hut. They had opened one in Pondok Indah Mall and now another one in West Jakarta. The concept is just like its sister next door (Marugame Udon) where you order and pay first before taking your seat.

There are many menu to choose from the counter. It ranges from pizza which can be ordered by slice (25K/slice) or around 200K for 18″/pan, pasta station, soup & salad then to beverages and dessert. Because SC had already eaten his lunch elsewhere, I only ordered a slice of salami jalapeno pizza 25K, fettuccine pesto bratwurst pasta 37K, and a cup of hot tea.

It took a while for my order to appear since the pasta has to be cooked and pizza have to be reheated first. They mistakenly made my pasta with alfredo sauce instead of pesto, so they have to make it again. The taste was more or less the same like any Pizza Hut restaurants, but I think the service here was faster. My pasta tasted quite good and the pizza slice was big, although the topping was not as spicy as I hoped even with the jalapeno slices.

Overall, the taste was just OK for me, great for Pizza Hut lovers but I much prefer real Italian pizza/pasta over this. They are not cheap either since I spent about 87K for the two dishes plus drink.
