One of my must visit place in Bali was Uluwatu, so on one evening we drove to Uluwatu cliff to watch kecak and fire dance there. To enter the temple we must put on a violet sarong with yellow belt. The temple was located in the southest part of Bali which we can saw a marvelous sea ahead. Around the temple there’s a lot of monkeys. Some of the monkey were very naughty. They always try to steal the visitor glasses or hat. After a while we walk to a place where there will be a kecak and fire dance around 6PM. The ticket for this show is 50K/person. We’re given a brochure containing the story/ brief information of the show. The brochure were available in several languages.
Kecak is the most unique Balinese dance which is not using any musical instrument but only by a choir of about 70 men. In this dance at Uluwatu cliff, the old Indian epic Ramayana was included into the dance. Watching the show while seeing sunset was one of the most un-forgettable experience. I notice that there’s no Indonesian people (not counting the tour guide) watching this show except us. Most of the visitor were Chinese, Japanese or Westerner. 🙁
